About this alani
Alani is a traditional Armenian sweet — dried fruit rolled around a whole walnut, eaten in place of candy across the Caucasus for generations. This assortment brings together six varieties in one box: fig, prune, red cherry, yellow cherry, Rehan plum and apricot, each wrapped around its own walnut.
No sulphur dioxide and no added sugar are used at any stage — the sweetness is entirely the fruit's own, concentrated around a crunchy walnut centre. The result sits closer to a fruit-and-nut confection than a typical dried fruit, with real bite running through the middle of each piece.
Eat it as a snack on its own, set it out the way it's traditionally served at a holiday table, or use it in cooking — sliced into a dessert, folded into baking, or scattered over a salad for something unexpected.
Making alani is genuinely time-consuming — each piece is rolled by hand around a whole walnut and dried slowly, which is part of why it's traditionally kept for special occasions rather than everyday snacking. This assortment brings six fruit varieties together in one box, so there's no need to choose just one.
